This week we're painting an ink drawing of our garden gate in watercolor. This painting started as a relaxing ink drawing based on our garden gate, and turned into a short lived passion piece.
The tools I'm using are
Canson 90lb multi media sketchbook
Windsor and Newton Watercolors
Rowney Diana #4 round watercolor brush
I’m using a Pentel v5 pen for my ink drawings recently. It has a great technical pen look but is much cheaper than microns.
I find them in the office supplies section of stores, but if you let the ink dry long enough, it won’t budge when you add paint.
I didn’t take many pictures of this piece as I was working on it, but it follows the same process of many of my other paintings.
Check out the video below to see the whole thing come together in about a minute. Real time, this painting only took about 45 minutes. Keeping these practice paintings doesn’t help with my patience, but it’s very relaxing.
