This is a small illustration from my May-October 2018 Sketchbook. Starting as an ink sketch from behind my table at a convention, I bring the drawing home to my drafting table and add a splash of color.
Halfway through the painting process, you can see here I’ve left a few elements untouched. After this dries I add a bit more contrast in the shadows and apply the final light washes.

Here’s a short no commentary video following my process as I add color to this ink sketch. I start with some green mud from my pallet and add color layers in shifts as the paper dries out.
